You may have arrived here after finding HumanClarity.co.uk in one of Sharon Kennedy’s books, through a conversation, or while searching for a more human way to understand a challenging, confusing or difficult experience.
Human Clarity begins with a simple recognition: human situations are rarely simple.
What we feel, communicate and do is influenced by our experiences, needs, relationships, surroundings and the meaning we give to what is happening.
When these factors are overlooked, people can be misunderstood, communication can break down and decisions can create consequences nobody intended.
Human Clarity creates space to pause, look more carefully and understand more fully.
It is not about finding someone to blame. It is not a diagnosis, a label or a judgement of character. It is an invitation to consider the person, the context and the wider system before reaching conclusions.
When something difficult happens, we naturally try to make sense of it. But the first explanation we reach is not always the whole explanation.
Human Clarity encourages us to ask:
These questions do not guarantee an easy answer. They can, however, help us respond with greater awareness, responsibility and humanity.
Think about a situation in which you have felt misunderstood—or have struggled to understand someone else.
Before deciding what the situation means, pause and consider:
What do I know?
What am I assuming?
What might be missing?
What would I need to understand before deciding what should happen next?
You do not need to solve everything immediately. Sometimes clarity begins by recognising that there is more to understand.
